Back to previous page...A valuable experience in teacher training for CALL

CALL is again an acronym, this one standing for Computer-Assisted Language Learning.

Ever since 1985 I have been lucky enough to be involved in teacher training for CALL at the regional, national, European and international levels. I have done my best to compile samples of good practice in class and in training sessions. Those documented in this section seem to me both effective and easily implemented. In the European approach sub-section you will find the concrete results —i.e., pedagogical material directly usable in class— of a series of workshops conducted throughout Europe between 1998 and 2002 in a VOLL context.

It is my belief that CALL is by far the most efficient way of bringing real life into the classroom and do-it-yourself methods for learners to cope with this authentic input.
